About this Map
Discover the grandeur of Vancouver Island's alpine by celebrating the demanding trails of Mount Albert Edward and the Comox Glacier with this finely detailed map. The Mount Albert Edward route, a classic from the Paradise Meadows trailhead near Mount Washington, takes adventurers through the stunning Forbidden Plateau to the island's sixth-highest peak, offering vast 360-degree views of Strathcona Park and the Pacific. For a more rugged mountaineering challenge, the Comox Glacier ascent follows steep, remote paths leading to a dramatic glacial plateau that is an iconic, prominent feature on the Comox Valley skyline. Both are essential treks showcasing the wild, majestic heart of Vancouver Island's wilderness.
About our Maps
These maps are designed by hand in house, they are artistic representatives of local trails and topography. Each map is laser engraved on a unique old growth cedar board, colors and grain vary piece to piece. Our cedar is kiln dried but wood is a natural product and can shrink or expand over time, change its color even.
The maps are laser engraved on a 19 mm (3/4") or 40 mm (1 3/4") thick panel of local cedar. A hanger slot is routed into the back for easy hanging.
